About Shane

Hi, and thanks for being here. My name is Shane. I rein from the foothills of N.C. Shelby N.C. to be exact. I live here with my daughter, the beautiful Hannah, a nine year old aspiring starving artist. We moved back to N.C. in 2008. Before we spent six years in Charleston, before that the Florida Keys, where my daughter’s claim to fame is that she was born in Key West. Before that I guess you could say I lived sort of a nomad’s lifestyle. I lived in Keys West, Palm Beach,Boca Raton, and Hilton Head Island. So now I find myself back in my hometown, land legs are somewhat adjusted, but wow! Has it been an adjustment. Summer of 2008, my Grandmother passed away, and my world kind of went into a tailspin. Long story short, we moved back, and Hannah and I live in the house that she and my Granddaddy built. The two of them were pioneers in what we call racin’ in the south. When first moving here, I had to make room for myself and daughter. My grandmother saved everything! Which means, when it comes to racing memorabilia, we have our own hall of fame right here. It was then that i really got the big picture about their lives, and I took up where she left off organizing the memorabilia. Doing this really helped me through the mourning process, and a better understanding of them, and myself as well. It’s amazing how much our elders do not tell you. Which brings me to part of what my blog is about. My blog in part is about racing history and their contributions to America’s #1 spectator sport.

What else is my blog about? Reinvention. Before moving back to N.C. my career was in the golf/resort industry buying apparel. Well, my former occupation just doesn’t exist in my hometown. So with that, I had to decide what my next move was. I had been experimenting with web design through side projects. So with that I started marketing my work through social media, and I was bit by the bug. Yes, you know the bug. Twitter, Facebook, flickr, LinkedIn, Digg… you name it, I’m probably there. I have learned a great deal, and love passing on the knowledge. Look for me to give you tips through blog post about different social media platforms, and how to make it work for you. What else is my blog about? Simple. Simply Shane,Simply Stated.

So, let’s get to know each other, pay it forward, and enjoy the good in life!

Best to you all!
